I have now read numerous complaints about my mortgage company (Select Portfolio Servicing inc AKA Fair Banks). These poeple HAVE o be stopped!
I like so many others fell on hard times and got behind on my payments. I found myslef look at either the loss my home or to see if there was another way.
I was told the only thing that this company could do was called a forbearnce. I had to give them $1,500 this past Feb. Then March-Aug my payments went up by about $110 a month. They ALSO want $2,218.41 this Sept! I was about $1,800 behind. I understand there are now fees I have to pay, but by Sept I'm looking at paying them around a total of $6,515.43 Since Feb of 06'!!!
No one told me that by them jacking my payments up was NOT helping me get back on track! I owed 1,800 plus 1,300 in fees (rounding) HOW DOES THIS = over $6,000?! I know my math isn't the best but I got a total of around $3,000 NOT $6,000!
I'm in Emergency Medical Services. We don't make much but I serve my entier county. I was told by one of the ignorant (so called) loan "counselors" to "get a better job if you can't make your payments". How dare these people! They are there to help us not to critcize us and what we do for a living.
I can't even find another company that will touch my mortgage now so I can just get away from Select Portfolio! I can't sleep at night, I have heart burn all the time and am just so stressed out! Everytime you call, you never get the ame person, they are rude, they beat around the bush, they don't tell you the whole story, and Lord help you if you ask the to get in-depth about your questions.
I honestly think they just want my property to re-sell. They could make at least 2xs what I owe them out of this house!
I have four weeks left, if you can help me or point somewhere, please do so. I've been here for 8 years and had this mortgage for about 5 years now. Its just me and my two kids. I JUST CAN NOT LOSE THIS HOUSE TO THEM! Its our home!
