I have been looking into purchasing a house. I had worked hard over the last few years to repair/improve my credit. I checked my credit score about a year ago and was getting a "good" credit rating. I then started appling for a loan for a house and I mortgage lenders are saying I have a some credit issues and have "poor" credit. So I check my credit and see Palisades Collection saying I have a deliquent account balance from ATT in the amount of $84.00.
My credit report dropped over 150 points and this is the only thing showing up on my report as bad. They apparently started reporting this account back in Aug 05. And the Date opened was 11/1/04. The last time I had an ATT cell phone was back in 99 and I'm certain I paid it all off when I closed the account. I have never been contacted by palisades through mail or phone. I just have this huge red mark on my credit report. Makes it kind of challenging to buy my first home when my credit is in the toilet. How do I get that off my credit?
