We got affected by Hurricane Rita. We have HORRIBLE damage from the storm. We have a 13 month old, and an 8 year old. We released $17,000.00 to Vanderbilt Mortgage, and they are telling us that they will only release a certain amount for our contractor to get started on our home. We have had no home for 7 months. We have had to move to Indianapolis from Louisiana to stay and work until we received our insurance money.
Now, 7 months later, our private insurance company comes through, and now Vanderbilt mortgage will not release our money. We have moved back to work on our place, but we do not have the funds to fix our home. We are helpless!!! These people do not care what we have been through. We were directly east of the eye of the storm, which is the worst, and we have nothing, our families have nothing. What are we to do?
This company is a nightmare. We have been living in a nightmare since September 23 and we cannot wake up. These people will not let us wake up. How can they expect us to pay for a home we cannot live in? Aside from that we were supposedly paying for insurance through Vanderbilt. We also had insurance through another company. Our private company has put out money, however Vanderbilt is saying they cannot because we had another policy with another insurance company. If someone reads this, please please help, we do not know what to do.
