Ok, I closed my U.S. Bank Credit card and had a balance that I need to pay on my a/c. I travel a lot and I use the internet like a mad man. I am use to online payment just as million others.
U.S. Bank has a very badly thought of way to cheat consumers who close their account and need to make the final payment. They make you call them but say that consumers can mail in a physical check, go to a U.S. Bank location or use the phone. But on the phone the caveat is a $10 courtesy fee they charge.
Now for people who live out of a suitcase this is not right since the only option is phone call especially if you travel internationally. I have been charged twice for using the phone service since their policy is to first close the online account access.
This is another way on top of the other wonderful ways they rip off consumers. Hopefully someday some good samaritan will take these companies to court and they are made to pay a penalty just like they want consumers to do.
Cheers
Vik
