I am constantly being called by this so-called collection agency. When I answer a recording comes on of a female voice saying they need to discuss an important business matter and to please call them at (a toll-free number). When I try to call them I always get a busy signal. My Caller ID is giving the number - and a whitepages reverse search done on my part came up with True Logic Corporation in Englewood, CO. I am in no debt whatsoever (besides my mortgage) and from what I've read on the internet, this company is either totally incompetent or are ripping people off.
An employee of True Logic ("Dave") recently rebutted another consumer's complaint on this website. The words of this guy clearly show these folks are a bunch of scammers... Take a look at this:
1) The person complained that they have repeatedly asked True Logic for documentation regarding this alleged debt.
"DAVE'S'" RESPONSE: If you have gone through the dispute process, and you are still recieving calls and/or letters, it means that the investigation determined that it was a valid debt and you do owe the money. Okay "Chris", if the debt is valid, why can't you provide any documentation of it?
The person complained that True Logic employees are rude.
"DAVE'S'" RESPONSE: They're not being rude, your simply used to having customer service people kiss up to you. They are doing their job, trying to get you to pay money that you owe. Think about it, a credit card was signed up for under your name, with your social security number, and you never paid on it. If someone used your information to sign up for it, you would have filed a police report by now. But you haven't, and if you had you aren't trying to get this cleared up by sending us a copy.
If I knew I was the victim of identity theft, I would report it to the police, just like I would if I felt a phony collection agency was harassing me. THAT'S WHY I'VE NOTIFIED THE LOCAL AUTHORITIES IN ENGLEWOOD.
NOW FOR THE KICKER: "DAVE" WROTE: Debt collection agencies don't have the original paperwork for ANY of the accounts, we're not just not letting you see it or making up the debt. It's not needed as the burden of proof lies on the debtor to prove that they do NOT owe the money.
Dave, you are so full of it! Collection agencies don't need to provide any paperwork to show the debt is valid? If that were true, ANYBODY could claim they are owed money by ANY PERSON they see on the street. If an alleged debtor asks to see the paperwork which you claim could prove the debt is valid, there is no reason you cannot ask your client to produce the related documents.
Bottom line is this: something smells very fishy about TrueLogic Financial. Your comments have only reinforced what many people have already suspected: that you and your company are not conducting legitimate business and are attempting to steal other people's hard-earned money.
