Like the others that filed against GLCU, I became a member of this so called "bank" in boot camp. I really wish I hadn't because the whole time I was in boot camp NOT spending money, it was still missing little by little. I'm telling you, some fat cat banker in the background is getting richer every day siphoning money from most of the members of his/her credit union.
Poor unsuspecting souls... As soon as I reported to my ship, the first thing I could do was make an allotment to my ship's account, then switch to (competitor's name deleted - see below), which certainly has not been as shady as Great lakes.
To top things off, years after I had closed my account with GLCU, I found that they had me as a charge off on my credit report! I have since had that investigated and taken off. I hate Great lakes credit union and everything that has to do with that institution. Glcu is evil... Taking pitiful boot campers' money like that!
*Great Lakes Credit Union is no longer able to advertise themselves/get people to sign up at boot camp anymore, and I think we all know why.
