I have a student loan in default that is all my fault I understand this. However...
Then they called the HR Dept at where I work and told them that they were going to have my wages garneshed. Then they called my Supervisior 2 times. After I got into a repayment plan (this after they said I was going to have money taken away) I made a payment. Then I was going to make regular monthly payments in order to keep them from hitting my paycheck. Well I had a doctor appt and I had to use my money for that and I had to miss the Jan payment. So I called to set up a payment plan that would allow them to be payed from my bank account. And that I would send in the payment for jan the same time they hit me for Feb. I have a cotract saying that they cam deduct from my account, Well last night (feb 16) they called to tell me that they are going to start garneshing my pay.
I have other options with thr DEPT of Education. And I am starting to implement them right now. Beware they will call your work over and over again untill you send them a letter telling them to stop. At best try to get with a lawyer and remember you have 30 days before they can start to take from your paycheck, If that happens contact the Dept of Edu right away to make other arrangments. Don't be fooled they start nice but turn into SATAN right away.
