Ripoff does not want to help you wants to foreclose your home

We got a loan with CountryWide in the Jan. We had some problems with our new house that made us fall behind on payments. We were always in contact with them and trying to work with them to get caught up.

From the very beginning they would put us on these huge repayment plans that were very hard to make. Everytime we would call CountryWide we would talk to different people and they would tell us different things. We never heard the same thing. They said they didnt have extensions, that you had to talk to whoever answered. Because you couldnt talk to the same person, no one ever knew what was really going on with our account.

We even went to a credit counseling place and they also tried to work something out with them and couldnt. They have a workout department that is supposed to help you when you are behind. But to even get in the workout department you have to fax pay stubs and a hardship letter and then wait 7-10 business days to know if you got accepted or not.

The first time we applied we were not told that we had to send a hardship letter. They denied us because we didnt have enough income. After I talked to someone and asked why we were denied they finally told me that other benefits like food stamps qualified as income. Which no one had told me before. She said then we probably would have been accepted but now it was too late because we were going to foreclosure.

They said either we had to come up with $978.00 in two days or our home would be foreclosed. We did come up with the money which wasnt easy. They ended up putting us back on a very high repayment plan. We applied for the workout department again and was really relieved when we called and they said we were accepted this time.

They said we would have to contact our workout counsler to discuss what comes next. We tried calling her multiple times and we could never get a hold of her. We left her many messages which were never returned. Finally one day we get a call from another woman who says she is following up with us for our workout counsler. She asks us financial questions and then tells me we were denied once more. She also tells me that even if we were accepted, we would just get another repayment plan. All along they had me beleiving that the workout dept defers payments.

I got very upset with her over the phone and hung up on her. She called back and says that our financials did add up and that she would send them to managment and she would call us back in a week to tell us whether they accepted us or not. She also told us not to make a payment until she contacts us. A week and a half goes by and we still here nothing. I call her and she says we were denied once again and that our account will go back to collections and that we will have to make a upfront payment and start a new repayment plan. We are told once again not to make a payments until collections contacts us.

We have been going through this run around for 3 months and still have got no help from them whatsoever. They keeping telling us one thing and doing another. I bet when we do hear from collections they are going to tell us that we are headed to foreclosure again and make us come up with alot of money in a short period of time. I have never dealt with such a bad loan company before. Loan companies usually would like to help you stay in your home and get caught up but not CountryWide. They like taking peoples home and they dont care. They costumer service is horrible.
