Bank Of America Military Bank
Is a serious ripoff

Just a few quick words of advice to anyone who may be considering doing banking with Bank of America Military Bank: Just don't do it! They are not looking out for your best interests in the least. I have been banking with them for the past two years and have had nothing but grief dealing with them. From deposit errors (too numerous to go into here), very high amount of overdraft fees which were not my fault (I keep very strict track of what I'm spending and check my account balance typically 3 times per week) and other problems too complicated to go into right now, I believe they are bordering on criminal activity in my opinion. Have also had a number of unauthorized charges to my checking account that they are "looking into" and they have never gotten back to me regarding these issues. Be particularly careful if you are traveling or working overseas, i.E. Europe, as I was last year while doing contract work for the Army in Germany. They were double charging me on the exchange rate for the euro when I took money out of the ATM over there. It was scary! I was in France somewhere one weekend and went to take money out only to discover I had a negative balance. I actually had approximately $4200 in my checking account at the time this happened. I somehow managed to get through to them on the international number on the back of my debit card and they informed me that it was a holiday and they could do nothing to resolve the issue until Tuesday, when the banks opened back up for business. I was in the middle of a foreign country with no way to access my money.

So with all of this mind, my opinion is if you want to save yourself some major headaches, not to mention a lot of money, avoid them totally. I will be closing my account with them this month and going elsewhere.
