A woman called my place of employment and left her number. I called when I got home. The number is 1-866-483-4925 and her name is Teddy.
The first question she asked me was what my home phone number was. I gave it to her. She proceeded to tell me my home address, which was incorrect. Then she told me that I owed Citibank a lot of money. I told her that I do not have any credit cards, because I don't.
She kept asking me, "Who would steal your identity?" Repeatedly. When I asked her just when the card was issued, she said, "Oh my God, our computers went down." Then she hung up on me after saying the phones still work but the computers don't. She hung up while I was asking her for amounts and times the card was issued.
I have only been on my job since September, and she called my job. So whoever got the card had to have gotten it between then and now, January. I unwittingly gave my home phone number to her.
I think she is the one who plans on getting, or has already gotten, a card in my name and just needed a bit more information to process the application. I have no way of figuring out this mess. I just know that, as bad as my credit already is from my daughter's doctor bills, if any company issues a card in my name there has to be a major amount of misinformation presented.
My credit is bad. Period. I have doctor bills that would make a wealthy man cry, plus a mortgage that has slipped, and my home is in foreclosure. No, I do not have a credit card, nor will I ever have one.
Citibank Visa can kiss off, and so can Teddy at 1-866-483-4925. I cannot stop them from listing anything on my credit report, as she threatened she would do. Mine is already beyond repair, but my daughter is alive.
If anyone reads this and can help me solve the card mystery and get it off my credit report, I would appreciate your assistance.
