Asset Acceptance makes bad-faith attempts to contact people by leaving pre-recorded messages on your answering machine that sound for all the world like a telemarketing call (even though the message says it is not but who is nave enough to believe that). I probably delete twenty similar calls per week from my answering machine BEEP (recorded voice) This is not a telemarketing call. Please call BEEP MESSAGE DELETED.
Next thing you know your wages are being garnished. Those totally non-descript calls you've been deleting were Asset Assurance attempting to contact you before seeking a court judgment against you. That debt you forgot about twelve years ago now you're paying it interest penalties court costs. Someone fraudulently signed you up to a health club membership? Now you're paying their bill plus a bunch more. No contesting it now because they have a court ruling against you.
The moral of the story - if you get a message on your answering machine that claims not to be a telemarketer, but sure sounds like it is and there is nothing in the message to make you think otherwise, DO NOT IGNORE IT. It could be the sc#m s#cking weasels at Asset Acceptance attempting to contact you before seeking a one-sided court judgment.
