Wow, I just got back from one of the biggest joke meetings I have ever been to. I am currently in my third year in financial advising, for the past couple months my brother have been telling me about this firm he has been "working" for and invited me to come to this meeting. As we pulled up I realized the very cheap looking office. I come in there is one room with about 60 people wearing very cheap and old looking suits. My brother introduced me to his "team Leader" this guy was a joke, claiming I should quit where I am at and do primerica, because they are ethical, well I never gave it one thought.
So we sat down, and this "RVP" stood up and began the presentation. He started talking about we are Citigroup billions of dollars in assets, even thogh they are just a division. Then he started going off on financial advising companies, that screw people and are garbage, very reputable firms, mine was one of them. I kept my mouth shut did not want to embarass my brother. He said he has a $450,000 balance in his checking account, and all the morons in this meeting errupted, as if the tigers won the world series. They were chanting Les, Les, Les! After that I almost busted out laughing. Because all these cheaply dressed people, thinking they are professionals were losing thier mind over this guy who told an unneccesary story.
Everything this guy said, the people went nuts, chanting "that right!", we'll do it! This may be a cult. I started to realize this company is for people who are morons. I guess you need $200 to get your life insurance license and after you pass that easy test, you are a financial analyst? I know when I started at my company my licenses were paid for by the company and I also got paid to train, if this company was so great, how come they dont do the same? Also I had to pass the series 7,66 life accident and health tests before I could even contact a client, I dont get these people.
Well after the meeting my brothers team leader "bryan" came over to my brother and he could tell I was trying not to laugh at this whole thing. He said "whats is so funny", I went on to tell him how I thought this was the biggest joke I ever went to, and how these people are not qualified to give financial advice. He got pissed! And told me my brother will be making more than me, but he needs $200 to get started. I told him what a joke it was, told my brother Adam, its time to go and not waste his time on this carnival of misfits, it doesnt look like they even provide any offices or cubicles in this hole.
They never got Adam's money, because to "work" for a company that does not care, and they dont or they would provide paid training and licensing, is absurd. Well I looked on this website to see if there were anymore posts on primerica, I noticed thousands all acroos the country so it wasn't just a bad office.
The only people who make any money in Primerica are the ones who held jobs like mine, got fired and got around thier non-compete clause to retain clients and setup shop at primerica. The laborers, fast food, gas stations workers and all the other walks of life that go to these meetings are just along for the ride, but not earning a dime. They probably go home for the holidays even though I'm sure most of them still live with thier parents, and say they are financial advisors.
Dont use that term because you are not one.Us real financial advisors, have worked our tail off for that title, and passing the easy life insurance exam does not give you that title. The series 7 does, try it sometime, i bet you score under 20%. I saved my brother, but to all you primerica people, actually try to move up in your real job, to support your family and make something of yourself.
Don't let this cult of parasites suck you in to thinking you will make six figures, your cheating your family and yourself if you do this without any financial background, because you are not qualified. Well I thought I'd share what I found out when visiting this dump of a company called Primerica.
