Charges to my account first appeared on 11/04 and while I didn't recognize the name, I thought it might be a purchase I neglected to note. However when it appeared again on 12/05, I began to investigate because I *knew* I had not used the card in any recent period to account for that charge.
I learned it was being made by Free Credit Report dot Com (that is how the phone number my bank gave me was answered). The operator, who did not identify herself, claimed that their computers were down and I'd have to call back in "a few days".
I did NOT knowingly subscribe to this service! I did NOT receive any credit report or service of any kind. Thus far I've been unable to find any way to cancel this so-called membership.
