First off this debt is 8 years old and occurred while I was serving duty in the United States Marine Corps. While I was away I had my identity stolen. There were credit cards in my name. Tickets given using my SSN and other utility services in my name. This particular debt was for a $1000 phone bill. I took this to court and filed police reports. ALL other debts were threw out. I was lead to believe when a different collection agency had this account this was threw out as well.
Over the years I have received correspondence from 3 different collection agencies all representing Asset Acceptance and I have sent over proof that this debt is not mine. Thinking the matter was resolved I relaxed. A couple of weeks ago. The new company CFC Financial began garnishment of my wages for a total of $2800 for a phone bill? This debt increased 150%
This company is a scam artist and they twist the law to rip people off. They never contacted me concerning the garnishment and I never got notice to appear in court. Their claim was that I couldn't be reached. Yet they found me to garnish my wages. Anyone interested in filing a suit please email me. I am definitely going through with it.
