I am writing on behalf of my boyfriend, to show my anger towards this subject. Wells Fargo is a bank that clearly does not protect their customers against fraud. We have now lost almost $1000, because they do not care about their customers! We live in Panorama City, CA. A month ago he was charged with unauthorized transactions that he did not make. Clearly someone hacked into his account to use a fake ATM card. About $364 dollars in purchases and withdrawals were made by this crook. He ended up overdrawn with about $99 in overdraft fees for all the fraudulent transactions.in contacting customer service he was told they would file claims and look into it. It took two week for him to get back some of the money, and not the overdraft fees, just $300 out of the near $500 that he lost. Nor did anyone call him right away to follow through on the claims at first. Last week, Wells Fargo took the money back, claiming that they did not believe his claim, so he was overdrawn again and charged $66 in overdraft fees. We deposited together almost $800 into this account to cover the $212 that was overdrawn. Today he has only $15 in his account, and we have no idea where the other $500 or so went. Everything has cleared and they took now almost $1000 from us, all because he was a victim of fraud. He ended up losing more than what was stolen because of this bank! He is taking his business to my bank, Bank of America, who handle fraud cases much better in my opinion. I was also a victim of fraud, but they credited my money back right away. I want to know where our $500 went. Someone needs to fix this bank's problems or close it, because they are ripping people off in overdraft fees and not helping anyone with fraud! We have lost so much because of this. We were saving for an apartment. It's like he is working for a living to pay Wells Fargo, and it's ridiculous. I have been so stressed out I have been having health problems including high blood pressure. We were supposed to move soon into a new place, and now we can't all because of this. I am so angry. Wells Fargo does not care - all they do is steal money. They are the reason we are now almost broke. I wish there was a way to fix this.
