I am constantly asking EMC questions and they send me alot of Customer activity statements showing my payment history. Of course the statements do very little to address what ever I asked them about; they only make it appear that they are giving me answers.
On the latest statement mixed in with all the Payments and payment break downs for principal, interest, escrow and property preservation (which I still have no idea what it is except that I pay almost $10 a month for it), I find a transaction for a Corp. Advance Adjustment. The amount of the adjustment is $33,000.
Now my original loan amount 20 years ago was only $18,000 and my current balance is aproximately $8,000. I have no idea what this $33,000 dollar transaction is. I have sent EMC letters asking them for an explaination, but so far they have never address this issue.
On the activity starement one of the codes they use for the corporate advance adjustment is 745. I have checked all the activity statements I have and do not see that code use anywhere else.
However, I did find 745 used in a printout I received from them listing charges that they had suddenly come up with. One day I received this statement with a letter saying that I owed for fees going back 7 years. Now I had never heard of any of this before. Inspection fees, fees where because I was one month behind in my houses payment (behind because they were holding my payment until it was late) they said they had to send someone in person to come to the house and make sure I still lived here and several other things. Anyway on this printout they have a part for History of corporate advance Transactions. Under it I see transaction number 745. I dont know what it means but it says it is for "XNWOW/ONONRECADV". What ever that is.
Another code the have by the $33,000 is 631. This is shown to be an inspection fee. The transactions on the History of Corporate Advance Transactions are for $75, $7.95 and $8.15. The printout shows a beginning corporate advance balance of $129 and a Total of $236. ]
The printout only goes thru 2001 and the $ 33,000 adjustment is in 2005 but I dont see how there can be that many adjustments to a $8000 loan in 4 years.
I would not put it past them to be doing something illegal. If nothing else something that will cost me money and get them more money.
I would really like to know what is going on with this.
