Ripoff, dishonest, bad customer service, consumer beware! Excessive Overdraft Charges Due To Bank Card! After Overdraft Charges Paid Bank Puts Hold On Funds!

For any of you reading this. Please take my advise and stay away from Bank Cards! Let me start out by saying that they will get you in trouble! Last month (April) my husband went to Kinko's and charged 5 transactions on their copying machine. $. 33 -$1.50. Transactions totaling $5.75.

We recently opened up a new account with his credit union and were going to close the Wells Fargo that week. Unfortunately, the funds were'nt there. So I told him to make a deposit. He made an atm deposit at 4:15 that same day! (NOTE: he was able to charge 5 transactions when the funds weren't in our account).

2 days later I looked online at our bank account and there were 5 negative transactions with a pending deposit of $50.00. I looked at the account again at 11:00 the same day and there were 5 $33.00 overdraft fees!

I called Wells Fargo 1800 and talked to one of their representatives. I told her about the deposit. The rep stated that their was a mistake at their end and to send a copy of the deposit transaction through fax. I faxed her the deposit slip and waited for her call.

The next day no call and no credit to our account. So, I called CS again! There is no record of my fax or information on the dispute. CS rep stated I needed to contact the atm department. Called the ATM department. They had me submit a dispute.

WF monthly banking fees were assessed to my account that day. Showing more neg. To the balance. CS told me that it would take 10 days for resolution. During this time there was going to be a online service charged through our provider going through the next day.

This was suppose to be our last transaction and why I waited to close our account. So I told my husband to make a deposit for $100.00. The $100.00 was only assessed for the overdraft charges. So the online service was another overdraft fee!

Called CS they would do nothing! Got passed around to atm department again. It was like they were reading a script to me& After the 10 days went by I recieve a letter from the Claims Department. They stated that the deposit was made after 4:00 p. M so it would be credit the following day and that they held me responsible for the overdraft fees.

My question is why couldn't they have told me that from the beginning. After I received the letter I contacted the agent who had sent it. He stated that I could set up a payment plan to pay these fees and forwarded my call to the overdraft department.

Well let me say the rep from this department treated me like a criminal. She stated. When are you going to pay these fees. I asked her " what kind of payment plan do you offer?" She totally ignored my question and asked me When can I pay this debt off. I asked her again about my payment options and rudely she replied ;. Excuse me. We do not have Payment Plans I'm asking you when can you pay this debt off? I was so upset I hung up on the b#$%^.

My husband called the next day and thankfully talked to someone else. He told them we would make a payment at one of their locations The end of April and the middle of May. Well now it is May! I went ahead and made a payment at one of their locations by my house. This was last week. Paid the amount in full and had extra money left over.

Well low and behold they put a hold on my account. I deposited a check in the amount of $430.00 on the 18th of May. Funds cleared the other parties bank Thursday evening. I called the CS department again. They kept telling me my account wasn't on hold that they were just waiting for the check to clear.

It is now Monday the 23rd. I called CS. They stated that my funds were being held due to excessive overdraft charges and that they wanted to make sure the check cleared. Well the supervisor that I had talked to Friday verified that the check cleared through the other parties bank. And that funds would be released today.

Well I'm still waiting for funds to be released. I did not receive any documentation from WF about any hold on my account. I have ahd this account over 11 years. Never had any trouble before. This is rediculous! After my funds are released I am running to WF and closing this account!
