Deceptive Advertising, They make up accounting as they go along Ripoff

I got a loan from this corrupt company in 2003. Due to financial hardships the loan fell behind, but was soon caught up, but not before they decided to sue (that's right, this company will sue you at 15 days past due).

Now, the loan is paid off. However the amount that was sent in for the payoff was about $250 more than the payoff quote that was given on the phone (due to a home refinance and Reliance's inability to correctly report credit). Nevertheless, I was told on two occasions that a check for the $250 overpayment was in the mail when in fact it wasn't. Now, I am told that there will be no payment, that the $250 was "liquidated damages" for being late. However there was no judgment, and the amount due was for principal and interest only. The smoking gun here is that Scott, the head loan shark there stated that I should leave well enough alone, and that if I needed a breakdown in their accounting that they would come after me for the amount they "claim" I owe them, which is about an additional $700. Hmm, looks suspicious. Why wasn't that told to the loan officer at the mortgage company when they called to get a payoff. I think I know why.

My warning... Keep away from this company. Many other companies like Capital One (has a subprime line as well) and MBNA offer Medical loans at much more reasonable terms.

Keep away from Reliance Medical Finance.
