In 1980 we purchaesd our home for 33,000, several yrs later we were placed with hud, after being with hud for 3 yrs I came into some money so I paid $13000. Thinking I put my note in order, then came ocwen. From the begining the calls started, foreclosure threats. Saying I owed when I knew I didn't. I was frantic after yrs of dealing with them I decided I'd refiance and get away from them. That was when the real nightmare started. Turns out according to them I owed so much no one would touch me. So in 1996 I claimed a chapter 13 thinking I was paying them and this way I was protected by the court system, I paid 31,000 in my bankrupcy. Here I thought its over,
ocwen would call me even when I was in the court system with an attorney and tell me I owed them money, my lawyer was no help either, he was getting paid automaticly thru my bankrupcy so what did he care. Ocwen kept the calls coming so regular it was a recorder with the same message.
I even had realtors drive by and take pictures of my house. Acoording to the attorney everything was find. I called the bank and told them you win after 24 yrs.in my home and endless nights of not knowing what they'll do next I decided to sell. They told me I owed 21,000. I knew that was wrong but either I agreed or they would get the house one way or another. On the day of the closing they send a statement claiming I owed $52,152. And that I was again in foreclosure for the 20th time. So after all my fighting and all my phone calls and letter writting, they won, I had to leave my home. 6 months later they send me a ck for $2,048 saying I over paid. They are rude, cold, nasty people, all the money that was paid had disappeared. They are the legal homeless makers of america. They can turn anybodys dream into a nightmare with one phone call.
