Aegis Mortgage
Liars, Dishonest

My husband and I worked really hard to get his credit fixed to where we could finally purchase a house. We went through a great mortgage broker who got my husband financed through Aegis Wholesale Corporation. Well, my husband unfortunately was gone serving his two week National Guard duty when the house closed so I had to do the closing by power of attorney for him.

At the closing, I was informed that I needed to sign a paper saying that the company could sell my mortgage. So I did. According to the paperwork, they were selling it to Aegis Mortgage Company and our first payment would be due in October.

Well, in the end of September we received a bill from CitiMortgage and two letters (one from CitiMortgage and one from Aegis Mortgage). Seeing as they had conflicting information, my husband placed a call to Aegis to find out when our first payment was really due and to whom. We never received a bill from Aegis mind you.

The woman who my husband spoke to informed us that since they sold the mortgage within the grace period that we did not owe a payment to them that we owed the first payment to CitiMortgage and it would be due on the bill date. Being first time home buyers we believed her and didn't make an October payment. Big Mistake!

We have made our payments to CitiMortgage every month and never had a phone call or letter from Aegis. Well right around the middle of March of I received a phone call from Aegis and they wanted to talk to my husband. I told them that he was deployed to Afghanistan so they would need to talk to me. They requested my power of attorney, so as soon as I hung up the phone I faxed it.

A week later a woman from Aegis calls and informs me that we are $669 past due because we have never paid our October payment. I asked her why it took seven months to inform us of this and she asked me to hold on and then hung up on me.

Two weeks after that I received a phone call from Gordon from Aegis. After a very heated discussion, I told him what I could do payment wise to get this resolved. He told me he would talk to his manager and call me back before he left for the day. Whatever!

Yesterday I received a call from Patrick from Aegis. After going through the whole story again and informing him of what I could do regarding payments he put me on the phone with his supervisor. Oh boy, I had to go through the story for the fourth time and he informed me that the payment needed to be made and what was I stupid for thinking I could buy a house and not make a payment. And how could I believe that there was a 90 day grace period as his employee had informed my husband in September. I told him what I could do regarding payments and that wasn't good enough.

Now they want the payment before the end of the month and suddenly they have sent several late notices and had called in November to tell us that the payment needed to be made. When none of it is true. Gordon from Aegis didn't even know why we hadn't received any correspondence in seven months. The only explanation he had was that they had one person doing this job and finally realized it was too much for one person to handle.

I asked Mr. Khan, the supervisor, what would I couldn't come up with the money by the end of the month and he said he didn't know. I asked him where I was supposed to get it from and they wanted me to defer my car payment or take out a personal loan for their mistake, which by the way they have no record of. Imagine that.

I told him that I had other bills to pay and a family to support and was willing to work with them, but the payment arrangements were the best I could do. He told me that I had all those bills before I bought a house so what was the problem. I am in the process of contacting the Judge Advocate General's office for the National Guard so that I can see if they can help me because these guys are getting out of hand. Never do business with them ever.
