We have been good customers with a Sony branded credit card for over 5 years. Bank One took over this card for Sony around a year ago. Our January statement showed the APR as 29.24% interest; the December statement showed a 10.99% interest rate.
I called Bank One and complained. Customer Service said they sent out an Important Notice in November notifying us that this would be happening. It is due to our credit report with Experian, that has no negative items whatsoever.
I called back and asked that the account be closed at the 10.99% rate. A supervisor told me that this was not possible because too much time had elapsed since the notice was sent; that the notice required that we close the account by December 27.
