I was served papers by the court to appear in court this month, because Asset Acceptance LLC is sueing me! They said it was for a charge from a credit card company. They said the charge they are collecting for is for a fitness membership. Well, I am shocked! Because I never walked into this fitness center, ever! I have no idea what they are talking about. I called this fitness ctr and gave them my information but they could not find me, nor the credit card that is was suppose to be paid with. I never sign up with them.
Come to find out, someone had to of stole my identify and went to this fitness ctr and sign up with this credit card. I have been talking with LLC over the past few days and told them this was not me, they will not listen. I asked them to produce any paperwork with my signature, but they can't. If they could, they would see that they have the wrong person., The fitness ctr will not provide me with anything stating I was never a member, becasue since I am getting sued now they will not touch it. I have asked LLC for my signature, which they shoud have, but they don't even have that. I just rec'd a letter from LLC today, about reducing the amount owed to settle the claim.
This letter came after my court papers which were served on Jan 24th. I am so stressed over this, I do not know what to do. I have missed two days of work because I have been so upset and my blood presure is so high that it has caused me to be out of work. If anyone has any input it would be appreciated!
