UCNB, AFCA, ACE—Rip Off And No Help At All ripoff and no help at all

I too wanted to fix my credit and UCNB was there to help or so I thought...
I signed up with ARCA AND ACE—both part of UCNB—and was promised they would help rebuild my credit and even went so far as to say they would help with purchases such as homes and automobiles!

I recieved my credit cards in 1998 and recieved the increaes as promised. I even purchased the credit card insurance on the 3 cards I received from them. I had payed all payments on time until the summer of 2001 when I was hit with a disability and was suddenly not able to work. I did return to work, however, the wages I had earned was barely enough for food on the table and the medications I needed, I could barely afford to pay the credit cards at all.

Even after my UCNB accounts were bought by Household Bank, AFCA continued charging my account the $5 a month fee. I decided to contact them and coancel this fee, they told me that I must send a letter and even after that that, they would continue taking at least 3 more payments.instead of going through this hassle, I closed my bank account and reopened a differnt one. Next thing I knew, AFCA sent a letter stating, I owed them money, I called and asked them why. They simply resonded with, "For the services we offered to you" In that case they didn't offer any services to me at all, they did not follow through their promise on helping with car purchases or home purchases.

Soon after I began reciving collection calls in 2001. I was honest with them about being disabled and had mentioned that I had the insurance on the card that I wad been charged every month since receiving the cards. They said that I chose not to work and that it was mandatory I pay. When I told them about the insurance that I was being charged for, they stated, " Sorry, there were no charges for insurance on your cards." I told them that they had better check their records and statements and they would see they were mistaken, but they didn't care to, or just sumply were too lazy to even check the account history.

Some time later in 2003 I recieved a letter stating a class action suit was in the works, I signed the letter and sent it in.

I would like to know what the status is on this lawsuit.
