Cross Country Bank
Hidden charges rip-off unfair unlawful practices!

I am not shocked at all the other complaints! I should have known cross country was a rip off when i asked them about unauthorized charges on my card that weren't listed in the original application process (online) or the sheet which my card was attached to; which i didn't get until after 4 wks of applying. They charged $100 and $49 onto my card with a limit of $250 which they claimed was on the initial list of terms when i applied. Not true because nowhere stated is there a "finance charge" of $100 listed anywhere initially; all these charges were hidden until after i got the card and used it. I asked for a copy or record of the original screen of the application and they refused. Customer srvc! What a joke! They don't help. They tell you owe the disputed charges and it's your perogative to cancel the card but you will owe because it was used before the dispute of course, which you don't see the charges until you've used the card or try to and the clerk tells you you've maxed out the same day you get the card because of these hidden charges. You don't even know these chgs were added until you are humiliated/embarrassed in the store or when you get the statement. Then they call you all day long until they get you. I have gotten 8 calls on my cellphone voicemail and 4 notes at work alone!!! Believe it! If i had originally know that there was a $100 fee i wouldn't have applied or accepted this card no matter how much i wanted one.

Heck, i don't even like the fact a place charges $49 or more for processing so i throw those away. But since they claimed/showed the small fee i went with them.

They claim the fees are clearly shown but they are not. They cover their tracks by stating the fees are "finance charge" for reporting to 3 credit bureaus and not just one to "... Help the customer better their chances of getting good credit". Ha ha! Jokes on the consumer!

I have cancelled the card and sent in a dispute letter for the amounts and provided proof that nowhere were the two amounts "clearly shown" and let's see how they respond to that one. Will keep posted... Thanks for letting me vent! Cross country sucks and has unfair (unlawful) practices!!!
