I filled out a credit application for Cross Country Bank online just to see what kind of credit limit they would give me. I received a credit card from them with a $350 limit. And a letter telling me that it would cost $154 to activate the card. I cut the card up at that point. That was in December.
In January I received a bill from Cross Country Bank for $154, $100 of it was listed as a finance charge.
I wrote them a letter telling them that I had not activated the account and informing them that I wanted the charges reversed and the account closed.
On January 22 I got their answer to my request. They closed the account but still expect me to pay them my minimum monthly payments or pay the balance in full.
I refuse to pay them, so I will continue this battle until I win the war.
