I recently sold something on Ebay, the buyer sent me a check, from Qchex. Supposedly, the buyer was located in the U.K., however, he wanted the item sent to Tunisia. The amount was incorrect on the check sent to me. I recieved 147.50 but I was requesting an amount of 192.00. The signature and name on the check does not even match the buyer's name.
After depositing the amount into my bank account, it was returned NSF three days later. I was charged a 10.00 fee for a returned check. During this wait period, the buyer wrote numerous emails explaining that he needed his item right away (it was a rush order), and to trust that his funds would be there. From experience, I knew not to do this and kept the item. When the check was returned NSF, I emailed the buyer and voided the transaction immediately.
