I was contacted by phone by a Melanie Hazle approximately one week ago. She left a message that they had a financing package ready for me to view. I could not remember the company but, in truth, i have been in the process of attempting to refinance my home and thought they might be one of the interested lenders.
I foolishly gave this Ms. Hazle my ss# and place of work. The next day they called and told me I was approved for a $100,000 unsecured loan at a 5% fixed rate for 10 years. Great! Melanie also told me that I needed to wire Western Union the$3,000 for life insurance on the loan and then they would wire my money to my account. She faxed to me some forms to fill out that basically say nothing about the lender, the terms, or anything. My biggest concern now is that these people have information on me that they may use fraudulently.
