I went in to a branch office of Bank of America to cash an $80.00 check written out to me. I was told that because I did not have an account there that I would be charged $5.00 to cash the check. I am aware that other banks are doing this also, but PLEASE GIVE ME A BREAK. Talk about DOUBLE-DIPPING. I took the check back. When will we stop allowing Banks to get away with this? Personally I will not do any business with B of A any more. Customers of mine who bank there will be asked to pay in cash. I do have some ideas for Bank of America since they are looking for ways to be GREEDY:
1. Why not just charge a cover-charge to everyone that enters the bank?
2. Maybe a Pawn Shop in the lobby?
3. How about even higher wages for Presidents and CEO's who are paid hundreds (and even thousands) of times as much as their employees?
4. Prostitution?
