When we signed up for directv we were told the installation would be free. The guys showed up to put it in, and they did a terrible job, made such a big a hole in the wall that the jack plate wouldn't cover it up and they put the plate on really sloppily. Then they asked for a $60 check made out to them personally. We told them the install was supposed to be free and they told us no that isn't true. Well, my dad has directv and he did not pay for installation, so we called the customer service and they said that these were technicians contracted by directv and that they could charge us for their time. We just wanted them out of our hair so we paid them. Then every time it got even a little stormy out our tv stopped working and said searching for satellite. We called them and a guy came out and said he fixed it, but it kept happening. We called them again and they want to charge us to have someone come out because they claim they fixed the problem. So when our contract was up we decided to go to regular cable because it was cheaper and wouldn't go out every time it rains. Now they say we owe them money, but our contract was up so I don't know how they can claim we owe them the cancelation fee. Dealing with directv is a mess. So not worth it.
