Exceptionally poor customer service - Whirlpool Refrigerato

We purchased a Whirlpool refrigerator from our local Lowes and purchased the extended warrantee. Within the warrantee period the ice makes stopped working. We called Lowes and they sent out a service repair person. He spent about 15 minutes looking at the refrigerator door and then said that the door needed to be replaced. He would call Lowes and get authorization. He was gone for maybe a half hour, called us back and told us that Lowes refused to authorize the repair as the problem was caused by the light in the door being left on. While we do not believe this caused the problem, if it did it had to be a defective light. We asked Lowes to send another technition to actually take the door apart to determine the real cause. They then said that we would have to pay for the repair call. We then called Lowes home office and were told they would not honor the warantee.
