Allstate is the biggest rip-off. I was in an accident on Sept. 20, and Allstate has done nothing but treat me badly over and over, even though the accident was not my fault. A driver hit me from behind, and of course he had no insurance. I had to use mine because I was not going to drive a wrecked brand-new car.
Now that I have filed the claim, it is almost 3 months later and I still do not have my car, because of the stupid people who work at Allstate. Plus I have no idea when I am going to get it back. The repairs and the rental car are going to total more than the amount I paid for the car, because they cannot get organized and just send my car to the right body shop to fix it.
But the main reason I am writing this complaint is that now that I have made a claim against my insurance, they are going to raise my rates. They legally cannot raise my rates because it was not my fault, so they came up with another reason. They supposedly ran my husband's and my credit after we had been with them for over 5 years. The policy is in my husband's name, so they had no reason to run my credit score, but they did. I do not have perfect credit, but it is better than fair. My husband has perfect credit.
So basically they are using our credit as the reason to raise our rates, when I think the real reason is that I now have a claim on my insurance and they are trying to get rid of us.
Now our rates have skyrocketed and I still have no car. By the way, I have made 3 payments on my car and have not had it for any of those 3 payments. Isn't that wonderful of Allstate? Do not go with Allstate. Big rip-off. Sorry for my spelling; I am terrible at it.
