This really is the worst bank. My husband and I have banked with them for ten years: checking, credit line, savings. Today I called to find out information on CDs for my baby girl's future. Being illiterate on CDs, I wanted someone to explain what my options are. A woman named Shirley at Madison first answered the phone rudely, then told me only about one IRA that she can get out when 59 years old. How stupid. She then told me to come and pick up brochures. In other words, she had no time for my questions.
Earlier this week, my husband made a deposit on Friday. He wrote down the wrong account number, only the first 3 letters of the account number. I caught this after calling the 1-800 number to check on how much, but it never showed up. After 8 phone calls talking to different people, including Avery and Brenda Summerlin, no one knows where my money is. They are waiting on the mail to run. Meanwhile, BB&T is getting rich off credit advancements, and I am getting totally upset.
I called today twice after no one called me after promising to. Brenda was in a hurry to run off to a meeting at 3pm and hadn't checked on my money. My question now is: here it is a week, and no one has a clue where my money is. Today Avery said she will call customer service to find a number to call. You would think they would have that number.
Poorly run bank. After this was corrected, I called FNB and spoke to a nice woman, Kelly Brown, who answered all my questions and told me about CDs. They took time with me about their checking, too. Needless to say, we will be FNB customers; I was before I married and was always happy. BB&T needs to close or at least get good employees before they go bankrupt.
