Like other "Dental Insurance" companies, Humana One fraudulently represents its PPlus plan as covering routine exams twice per year at no extra cost when provided by a participating dental provider, which is a lie. The provider will accept Humana One's payment and then bill extra, as Humana One does not pay what the dental practitioner charges.
Also, the Humana One PPlus plan proclaims that by using a Plan Provider, one gets a discount on dental restorations. Not true. The provider is allowed to charge whatever he or she chooses, and did in my case. No discounted pricing was rendered. I paid full retail for crown and filling procedures, charged in excess of $2,000, with pricing afforded to me as if I had no insurance carrier at all.
When one computes the total out-of-pocket cost of services received plus the premium of $200 per year, you paid more than you would have without insurance. I keep reviewing dental insurance plans and have yet to find one that delivers as advertised. Humana One can proudly proclaim, "We're as good as our competitors." What a country! Dental insurance is based on a used car business model... For every customer lost, five unsuspecting ones show up. So why not keep it going?
