Today, March 22, I received a collection notice from RMS stating that I owe $38.50 from Humana. I called RMS, and I was told that I either had to pay now or call Humana myself, which I did. When I called Humana, I was told that they had sent me a letter dated January 13 to collect the amount. I haven't received any letter from Humana. Besides, my insurance coverage with them was cancelled (I requested it) effective January 31.
The letter I got from RMS stated that I should send my payment to Humana Insurance Company, P.O. Box 533, Carol Stream, IL 60132. When I called their Carol Stream office, I was told that they know nothing about this bill. The gentleman I talked to was very rude. I finally called back Humana's Kentucky office and paid them $38.50 with my credit card.
I don't understand how I could owe them anything when my premium was automatically deducted from my checking account while I was still insured with Humana, just like my present dental coverage, which I will definitely cancel in May. Nobody seems to know what is going on. I am disgusted because my credit rating is tarnished over $38.50. People out there, maybe Humana is right for you, but for me, I was ripped off.
