To: The Home Depot credit cards department or To Whom It May Concern
Dear Sir or Madam,
My husband and I have been your customers for many, many years. We have been in financial hardship since July, and we sent letters to all the credit card companies we hold cards with, including Home Depot. We were paying the minimums and keeping up with our payments as best we could. Sometimes we do not even have food on the table, but we try to pay the minimums for the credit cards we are behind on (all of them). We have four children.
Today, I discovered that your card is just going to kill me completely, as I found that you applied finance charges of $653.77 in one month. I called your customer service on 03/29/07 in the morning (EST), and they told me that I have to live with it and that they are not going to do anything to help.
How nice is that? After so many years of being your customers on a daily basis (we used to have a construction company), now, when we need some little support and understanding in our situation, the big Home Depot just turns its back on us.
We are very disappointed about the customer service response. There were no options offered and no one was interested in listening about the situation we are going through right now. No one cares anymore when you cannot pay or buy.
To make it short, we are writing this letter in the hope that someone at Home Depot would understand our situation and bring some options to us on how we can avoid almost $700 in finance charges in a month. We can still pay the minimum payment required. We understand that we are responsible for it.
Please help and do not let us just go down because of the charges your card is applying to us. We can barely survive. We definitely cannot pay those ridiculous finance charges.
Please understand and help.
