I moved in Aug 05 to another state and called to cancel the service. They connected me to the moving department, which extended the account for three months and said that when I reported to my new location I should let them know. I called and told them that the people I was renting from didn't want anything on the roof or attached to the home. They told me that this was against the law and that they couldn't do that, and that they would put a dish on a pole and I would have to pay for it. I told them to just close the account and refund my credit amount of $45.62.
Every six months I keep receiving a bill stating that I owe, and the bill keeps increasing; it went up to $143.91. I called again to try to get this account closed and receive my refund of $45.62, and they told me to send them a letter of dispute. I did, and I am still receiving a bill that is past due for $117.65.
I called again and they said that they tried to call me at the number in my letter, but I didn't receive a call. They credited me half of the bill, even though I have not had DirecTV since Aug 05. She told me that I will not receive a refund and that they credited me because I have been a member since 96.
They just don't want to refund my money. I don't have a bill, and the old billing address is vacant and no one has been living there. So what service have they given, and why should I pay for something that I didn't receive?
