Without a doubt, DirecTV really does have the worst customer service I have ever experienced. They outright lie.
I had an appointment scheduled to have another room connected to my service, and no one showed up. When I called (after a 45-minute hold), I was advised that they had no idea why no one showed up. They told me I would receive $100 as a "no-show" guarantee. The next appointment they could give me was 2 months later. I had to make several calls, which took no less than 2 hours, to get a sooner appointment.
Needless to say, the check for $100 never came, and that took another 2 hours of wasted time making phone calls. Eventually, it came.
When I called to inquire about upgrading my box to a DVR, I was told there was a "special" and that I wouldn't have to pay the $99.00 charge for it. Naturally, they charged me anyway, and when I called about it, I was told that I was mistaken, that no one would have told me that since there is no such "special." So not only did they lie to me, but then they accused me of lying.
I think it's time to switch back to cable.
