If you are thinking about renting from Reliance, do not do it. Twice I received an old water heater that leaked within a couple of years. The last time, I checked the build date before it came off the truck. I told the repair person to "keep it." That 8 year old water heater is not coming into my house.
Then I called Reliance to cancel my account, and I bought a water heater and paid a plumber to install it. One year of rent from Reliance cost me approximately $200, and Reliance charged almost a full year's rent, $176, to close the account. I bought a water heater with a 10 year warranty, and complete with installation it cost less than 4 years of rent from Reliance.
