As soon as the internet to my house went out, I called the 1-800 number provided by Windstream. I will admit the woman, Michelle, was extremely friendly and helpful. She walked me through the troubleshooting process, and we concluded the Windstream modem was defective. (For the second time in one and a half years.) She instructed me to bring the defective modem to my local Windstream office to exchange it for a new one. After going there (two separate times) I was very rudely told in would be 130 dollars to replace the modem. This was different than what I was told on the phone and after TRYING to explain to the incompetent women she told me to "Go call the 1-800 number then." I did just that. After talking to someone on the phone he actually reported that there is currently and outage in my area. I was grateful to finally know what was going on with my internet connection, but WHY did it take so long for me to be informed of this? I took time out of my schedule to go to the office TWICE and had to take the 20 minutes trip TWICE and was just treated unfairly and never informed of the real problem. I am so angry with the customer service in the office; it is atrocious and depicts exactly how a business should not be run. For the first time in my life I found that a 1-800 number is exactly the way to go.
