DirecTV DVR Change - DVR

We left DirecTV in January as our local phone company offered to install a new DVR which would record 4 TV shows at once for free in addition to lowering our monthly bill. As soon as we left, we began getting mail and e-mails asking us to come back. After 5 months, DirecTV made us such a good offer, we decided to return as they would install 2 DVR's and network them to work as one, giving us the ability to record 4 shows.

The sales rep indicated this would work seamlessly and we did not need to pay an extra $3/month for a single DVR which would record 5 shows. However, as soon as the installer finished installing the 4 new TV attachments and set up the network, we realized the system did not work as we were promised. I wrote in the installation slip that I was not satisfied. The installer also advised us that the new box which records 5 shows does not work well and they were having lots of problems with it. So, we decided to give the new configuration a try.

After 3 months, we decided it is just not working for us and I called DirecTV, reported what happened and that I had noted on the installation slip we were not satisfied and the supervisor advised me that i should not have accepted the installation at all. They want $500 to install the correct box for our needs (which I still have some concerns about whether it works well or not).

We really don't want to have to go through another TV change out, but if DirecTV won't make this right, we're going to have to.
