Would not setup second account - direct path cable service

I was told I could take one of my existing boxes to my new address and plug it in and all would be good. Bullshit! Sorry but it is true. You are not allowed to have two accounts with direct tv and use a box that you own from your previous account. I have been a loyal customer since 2005. I own my recievers but can only use them at one address. The one that I opened the account with. I can cancel my service or move my service to the new address. But I can not take my old reciever and just plug it in the wall at the MDU I moved to and get service. I must get a box from direct path and start an account with them. I have spent many hours on the phone trying to get service at my new address for the last month. Today I gave up. I will be closing my Direct Tv account in the near future and will not open another. I have found away around the directpath thing. I'm going with the old standard tv antenna and something called red box for my movies. I might even get a dish from radio shack and mount it on a tripod. And put it out as I need it. That would get rid of the need to mount the dish on their building. I would have service with someone else other than direct tv or direct path. You know what I'm already starting to feel better about this. I'm going to be saving 99.51 a month. Wow what will I do with all that extra money Hummm.
