Affiliated with Summer Aind Resorts false travel promises. Sffiliated with Smart Travel & Incentives of Lake Mary, FL

We received a card advising us that a new travel service similar to Expedia and Travelocity had identified us as frequent travelers and would give us two round-trip tickets on U.S. Airways wherever they fly and two nights at a Marriott, just for responding and trying them out. My wife called the number and we agreed to attend a short presention at which we would receive the promised travel vouchers. The presentation was in a prestigeous office building in New Orleans (where we live) and we were me at the elevtor and escorted to an office suite, which I recognized as one of those business centers which rents out offices to different people and provides a receptionist. I had in fact been to that suite before on business. We were given the presentation with two other groups, then told the price to join their "travel club' (about $4500) and then each group was split off to meet with a rep. My wife and I met with the one who gave the presentation who claimed to be a retired USAF pilot who had flown around the world several times. It became obvious this was a scam when he did not know what hemisphere Germany was located in. When we said no, we were given a short form which we were told was our "vouchers." A quick glance confirmed that it was a voucher for a rental car and a "hotel cash card by Priceline." We were then quickly ushered out.in reading the fine print on the "voucher" it became apparent it was a scam and issued by "Smart Travel & Incentives of Lake Mary, FL." which is prominently in complaint. It was the old "send us money in a money order and we'll send you stuff" scam. During the presentation, the presenter put their website up on a screen and went through a few panels. I keyed it into my smartphone and when we left, pulled it up. You can only get to the first page, and yu are told you must enter your member number and password to get inside. I then noticed a blurb at the bottom that affiliated them with Summer Winds Resorts. I thought it odd that a Google search brought up nothing about Island House Travel except for the site itself - no reviews, nothing. I then Googled Summer Wind Resorts and found out the truth about this scam.
