I was following the prices of Orbitz online for over an hour for a trip to Cozumel. As soon as it changed, I tried booking it for $728 when the promo code and check box for car rental did not pop up, I called customer service immediately. After going through the entire itinerary, big surprise, the price had gone up to over $2,000! What a waste of time. I have used other discounters without this problem. Now, I am reluctant to use Orbitz again, knowing I may miss a real opportunity elsewhere. I am aware of what time airlines change their prices and how discounter work as I travel frequently, so am not fooled.
