Hi, My girlfriend fell into the trap and purchased this trip from Ramada. When I found out I was suspect so I did some research on the subject. I found this site and others bad news on the trip so I convince her to call but she was told that it was non-refundable. Since it was late I figured I would call the next morning. I called but was told since Im not associated with the account I had to have my GF present. I said fine and wanted it noted that I called. I decided to call one more time just to see because it was bothering me. This time a guy came on the phone and gave the spiel that the conversation was been taped, I said fine Im taping it as well (I didnt even have a tape recorder) The guy said that I could not because he doesnt give me premission. I said fine and made a 'click' sound and said I wasnt recording (what a tool). Then I got sent around to different people (note: I recommend that you write down everyone name even if you speak to them for a minute, I will tell you why later). Again I was told I could not refund the trip, at this point I had to complete my work (some people have to work for 698.00 but apparently thats not important to Ramada). I decided to dedicate at least an hour and half to resolve this because the longer you wait the harder it will be.
That night I called with my gf and went through the same BS. Finally got to talk to a rude (female dog) of a woman named Debbie. I told her straight out that the result of this conversation would be a) her hanging up on me and me calling back or b) My refund. I made sure I made my points and she wanted to speak to my girlfriend who was getting coax by Deb to change her mind. It is important that when you talk to these morons you let them speak (I was playing tic tac toe with my GF). Just answer No, uh, not really interested and nope, these phrases work great. After awhile they will refund you if that doesnt work start naming the Florida sellers travel act or your state/province name plus the words consumer act. Also do your research and get the VP and Pres name and the Attorney General name I think it is Charlie Crist. For full I threw in phrases that made no sense at all, like hindsight is 20/20 but im seeing 10/11. What the hell that means I dont know but I was laughing inside when I said that. The end result was that they offer my gf her refund in 7 - 10 days. I wanted to confirm this and was given the rude comment that my gf has a mouth and she can tell you which I replied that she has a beautiful mouth but I wanted to her these details from you its your job is it not. I dont know if it is coming or not but I called her visa and filed a report with the cancellation number so if it does not come through in 30 days Visa comes after them and they do not want that.
My solution to everyone is this: My life has been drained about 10 hrs because of this company. Im an fortunate unlike some of the stories on this web page. I suggest that every attempt you make to get your money back do the following:
1) Have a plan and a back up plan in the way you approach them
2) Make sure you have allotted enough time to sit there and talk to them.included in this is about 10 times you might have to call back
3) Stay calm and not insult them even if they insult you. Hell after I get my money back I might call them up once a day to say Hi.
4) Its your money and if you want it you will fight for it
5) Mark down every ones name and posted it on this site along with description of they way they treated you and how you feel about them. The only way to kill a plague is to attack it on the inside. But dont do this if the person is helpful and refunds your money reason being you dont want to weed out the good people in the company just the smart asses who are too stupid to realize that they are working for a scam. I have a big list (10-12 people who I will post if I dont receive my refund in 10 days) Its not last names but at least you will know if you encounter this person you have a better chance of getting your money by talking to a wall.
Will let you know and dont give up. This is a great website that help me out and I encourage people to speak their mind on this site and not just read it move on.
