I booked a hotel in Canada for a 2 night stay. Upon receipt of confirmation, I was charged in US$, and I would not get any money refunded if I needed to make any changes. I was not informed while on the telephone with the clerk that the price was in US funds, with a no cancellation policy, nor, was it advertised anywhere on the site. When I called back to enquire about this, I was advised that the customer service clerks are situated worldwide, and if I get an Cdn clerk, price would be in Cdn $.. And that some hotels do abide by the no refund for changes policy... What a bunch of hogwash!
The only saving grace was that the US and Cdn $ are pretty much the same right now!
The hot advertised price as shown on the roomstays site, turned out to be exactly what the hotel was charging, and I could have called the hotel direct and made the reservation, with changes if necessary and in Cdn!
I'm NOT impressed with the site and will do my very best to imform everyone I know NOT to use it! Expedia or calling the hotel direct is the way to go!
