We have been Wyndham owners since 1999. The resorts are great, the staff is also attentive and welcoming. However, the sales offices cloaked as Member Services are pressure cookers where money trumps truth. Should you prevail and NOT purchase an upgrade, you are directed to sign a form that says you were made this incredible offer and refused it, implying it will never be offered again.
We made the mistake of saying yes at our most recent visit, but were not advised of the recission period, which has diminished significantly since our previous purchase. After getting some advise and reading the contents of the agreement, we are no longer interested in continuing our membership and have started the process. The contract has changed over the years. Sending a guest to a Wyndham resort used to be free.
Now it is $130, $99 if you make the reservation yourself. Why? This is supposedly paid for! The agreements can be changed at any time by the Board. No member/owners such as ourselves are allowed to be on the board. Maintenance fees continually increase. Distortions that our maint fees can be paid by renting it out are a joke. Unused points each year used to be transferred by Wyndham to other wners who needed them - no more. And the selling point that you can pass it on to your heirs is not an option. Their intent is that the ownership goes on in perpetuity. Don't be fooled. This is a money pit.
