We purchased rooms from Expedia and later received a letter saying that no room was available at this hotel because the hotel had messed up the booking. On the phone many Expedia representatives gave us many diferent reasons. They kept us dangling for an entire day 'waiting for a reply from the hotel'. After giving up and canceling, I went online the next day to find several rooms for sell at the same hotel-TheDelta Queen, in Chattanooga-at higher prices! Expedia reps assured me that thi was the fault of the hotel so I called. The Delta Queen staff told me that Expedia oversold rooms every weekend, that this was a problem, that they were not able to remove rooms listed on Expedia's site (which Expedia said the hotel was supposed to have done). The DQ staff tools me that the room listed currently by Expedia were not available so a I write this someone else is about to have their trip ruined. If you try your luck with expedia, do not pay with a debit card because they will not give you and immediate back on the $ you paid.
