Grey Hound - Indian Trails
Grey Hound Indian Trails rip-off! VERY Rude Employees! Customer Service BAD! Dead end! Rip-off! Trip

On July 6th I was suppose to leave Cadillac MI on a bus with Indian Trails at 11:10 A.M. The bus never arrive at the bus station until 12:00 noon. The bus had some mechanical problems which is understandable, except for the fact that the drive had a chance in both Reed City MI and again in Grand Rapids MI to change buses and get one that ran the way it was suppose to he turned down both offers and said this one would be just fine. The drive had to pull off the free way 4 times between Cadillac and Reed City to let the engine cool down.

By the time we arrived in Kalamazoo MI where I was to get on another bus to Chicago IL it was 6:00 P.M. According to the schdule that I recieved when I recieved my ticket I should have arrived in Kalamazoo at 2:50 P.M. So I am now 3 hours behind schdule. When the second bus arrived I was told along with other passengers that there was standing room only, either we had to stand all the way to Chicago or wait for the 9:45 P.M. Bus. Prior to leaving I attempted to ask the driver about how long it would take once we were rolling how long it would take to arrive in Chicago. He said to "talk to the hand (while holding his hand up in my face) if you dont wanna ride my f&in bus you can wait for the next one. I don't wanna hear it" We finally left at 7:00 P.M. Yes I had to ride the bus because I was already running late. There was 70 people on the bus now.

We arrived at the Chicago IL station at 10:00 P.M. Where I was suppose to be at 6:00 P.M. And depart at 6:35 P.M. For Champaign IL and arrive there at 10:30 P.M. Once in Chicago I was told by customer service that I would not be able to get a bus to Champaign until 6:00 A.M.

I was on my way to Farmer City IL for orientation for a new job. I had to be there by 5:00 A.M. To start orientation. The 6:00 A.M. Would not work for me. They explained there was nothing they could do and I would just have to wait. I ended up being both disappointed in my first expierence on a bus and furious because I would not make it to my destination as I was told that I purchased another ticket to return how.

My return ticket would leave at 8:00 A.M. According to them and the schdule. When time to board the bus the drive told us that anyone going to Grand Rapids MI or beyond would have to wait for the next bus. I ended up finally getting an express bus to Grand Rapids at 10:00 A.M.

I spent 12 hours in the bus station in Chicago IL waiting because of the major screw up. They cost me my job and they cost the company I was going to work for $77.00 for the first ticket and me $30.00 for the second ticket. Not to mention a very long miserable night in the bus station with no sleep no shower and no food. Their prices are ridiculous. It cost $4.71 for a hot dog and soda. $7.88 for a pack of smokes.

This is a ripoff for everyone. I have now used the public bus one time in my life I WILL NEVER travel this way again. THANKS GREYHOUND for lying to me and screwing me out of my job. I hope that I will be able to reach millions out there who even think about traveling with you and get them to use other means of transportation.

There are a lot faster and more reliable ways to travel than Grey Hound, my advice to you as a fellow traveler is to research your options and best wishes to you if you dont and you decide to travel with Grey Hound. I know now that I personally will either fly or use Amtrak from now on.
