I made a car rental reservation for my daughter with CarRentals.com. Carrentals.com operates as the middleman between the customer and the rental agency. I selected all my preferences for insurance, the age of the driver, class of car, etc. The total given by CarRental.com was a bit over $80 for the day. When my daughter picked up the car at the actual car rental agency (Thrifty), it turned out Thrifty had totally different charges for every preference that I picked on carrentals.com's website, and the total for the same preferences was actually over $140.
Thrifty advised me that when CarRental.com sends them the booking, they do not include any of the preferences that the customer already picked at the price CarRental.com lists. The list, and the fees associated with each item is a complete bogus, intended to lure you in to book with them for the seemingly low price, only to be shocked when you actually go pick up your reserved car.
Do not use CarRentals.com, it is inevitable that you will be ripped off!
