Don't be fooled by companies like Travelocity. They take your money up front ($2,800 in my case).
If you cancell or miss the first flight, they don't reschedule air tickets, they keep your money.
Neither do they refund any of the full hotel payment. A smart way to plan for travel is this; 1) look for flights, hotel, and car online, compare and decide.
2) Buy air tickets directly from the airline, they allow rescheduling.
3) Reserve the hotel, no money upfront.
4) Reserve the car, no money upfront.
Travel insurance is a hoax too, it covers only the person that is sick, and only up to $500.
